What we advise on
- Standards and their differences: how UL, EN, BS, AS, ISO and Chinese standards differ in specimen, heating curve and criteria when one product goes to several markets;
- Specimen and construction review: drawing review before the test to find the details most likely to fail — joints, fixings, hardware, penetrations and seals;
- Test planning: which test first, how many specimens, whether to run an indicative test, to finish the programme with as few specimens as possible;
- Failure analysis: when a specimen fails, we use the test data and the remains to find the cause and recommend design changes;
- Development support: comparing materials and constructions, together with non-standard tests and fire and explosion simulation.
Where we stop
Huahui is not a certification body and does not take over a client's whole compliance programme. We advise on technical questions about testing and tell you plainly which tests are within our accreditation. For energy storage codes, see energy storage fire consulting.
Deliverables
- Requirements map: which tests each target market (North America, Europe, UK, Australia, China) requires and how each is assessed
- Specimen and construction review: joints, fixings, hardware, penetrations and seals, where most failures start
- Test plan: order of tests, number of specimens, indicative tests, to avoid repeat submissions
- Failure analysis report with design recommendations
Frequently asked questions
Can Huahui issue a certification?
No. Huahui is a testing laboratory; certification is issued by certification bodies such as UL, TÜV Rheinland, Intertek or CSA. Our advice is about the testing: what to test, how to build the specimen and how to pass first time. We can run witnessed tests for certification bodies on request.
What if part of a certification programme is outside your scope?
We say plainly which tests are within our accreditation and which are not, so the rest can be arranged elsewhere. You can search our scope on the home page.
